A necessary item is difficult to obtain? WHAT A SURPRISE

And of course there has to be a giant tree.

Sorry this comic is late, it was really that first panel. By the way, Victor’s family graciously invited me to go on a New Year’s cruise! So that’s where we’ll be for the next several days, and there may or may not be fillers instead of comics. There will be something though. Just to warn you.
It’s always those necessary items that are the hardest to get.
I suppose if they were unnecessary, we just wouldn’t care as much and would move on
Yes, true. xD
Darn those necessary items, being all necessary and impossible to get!
Yup.
But I hate items that are almost impossible to get when doing a side-quest.
CURSE YOU MAJORA’S MAAAASK
It’s even worse when you can usually find an abundance of something that isn’t helpful, but the moment you need it, you can’t find them anymore.
Case in point, I was looking for pickaxe in Skyrim so I could mine some iron for a weapon that I wanted to make, but of course, after searching three towns, a major city, and even a dungeon (which was a mine for Pete’s sake!), I couldn’t find ONE. Now, ever since I gave up and bought the iron I needed, I keep finding pickaxes everywhere I go. Games are cruel like that…
Also, is that a silhouette of Kazooie in panel 1? Ever since I looked at Banjo Cutie yesterday I’ve had a strong urge to play that game…
zelda reference xD
ocarina of time to be exact
How is this an Ocarina of Time reference?
I actually did a quick play through of the game (not the remake if it makes a difference) just last month and I don’t recognize any particular references to the game, personally.
giant tree. i assume its the deku tree
On the other hand, giant trees are hardly uncommon in fiction, games included, I believe.

I suppose that if it weren’t going to be an adventure in and of itself, we’d not likely have followed this sub-plot in the first place. ;P
Enjoy the cruise, and happy new year! ^_^
My first Captcha for this seemed to be “alarmed esseilig”. I wonder what an “esseilig” is, and whether they’re more or less dangerous when alarmed…
