Well I had to gouge out my soul in order to get myself to draw the last panel. I am now an empty shell of an artist, a machine with no empathy. Now I really can be a lawyer in the future AMIRITE (just kidding everyone at the firm is incredibly nice)
Also it’s really weird to have to word “fart” in our comic.
Aw, man, what do I even say to this? I’m gonna have nightmares about Skarva being beat up now. .0.
PS. Is the word “Idenau” a play on “I dunno?”

I actually toned it down too, he had blood dribbling out of his mouth and a missing tooth on the ground originally… but then I was like… holy crap. What have I become?!
I’m glad you toned it down. Normally I’m all for broken teeth and dripping blood and broken limbs and all that gory stuff (but I’m not a horror fan… hmm…) but this just tore my heart apart like a paper-shredder having at a flyer!
but it’s okay, I ragdoll my charas all the time and beat them up horribly. One character even died multiple times, had heart surgery like… twice, was burned, broke a leg, and became a mute for a while. Among other… ahem… atrocities…

Yeah… I have a lot of issues in my life that manifest as complete sadism towards my characters. It’s kinda like therapy… kinda.

There’s actually some symbolism behind Skärva being sharklike, of all animals… sharks are greatly feared and demonized by humans, as the gods well considered when they brought down the curse… despite shark attacks on humans being in reality extremely rare – they are fascinating creatures, hated for no good reason.
But… but our sharks don’t have extra eyebrows and fancy castles. D8

it started with a laugh with her calling him a fart… and ended with heartbreak at the sight of Lorelei tears. also how does blank know her, isn’t this the first time they met in the comic? they seem to know each other… more mystery surrounds her. i feel like they’re related.

May not be the first time they’ve met, just the first time we’ve seen it. After Blank first turned up, there was a time skip, during which apparently Lorelei saw a lot of failures. No telling what happened there.
As heart-rending as it is to see Skärva on the deck, is anyone else satisfied to see Blank chargrilled? Whatever he did to Skärva, Skärva paid back in kind before going down.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have something in my eye.
Man, we should have really put in a montage… I still don’t think everyone gets that there was a time skip. But I’m considering, when I get ahead enough on the actual comic, making some title pages for each arc… that would help, I think.
I certainly enjoyed drawing it.
Yeah, what Dac said. He doesn’t really know her but at least knows who she is and that she’s always there, not far from his nemesis and by the villain’s side when it’s all over. I’m not sure she realizes what she DOES, though… I believe he just thinks Skärva has a ward for some ungodly reason.
Somehow I don’t think a lollipop is gonna fix this. But she DOES like peppermints, a lot.
Wow Blank really is the “good guy”, letting Skarva live even after toying with his emotions, kidnapping, making him run around the entire would though dumb dungeons. Especially considering that this isn’t the first time he had to stop Skarva (and I’m guessing he got those cuts and that missing tooth form Skarva’s plans). Really most people would just strait up kill Skarva for a lot less. Makes me wonder if Skarva ever wins would he spare Blank?

That’s an interesting question, and I don’t even know the answer. Skärva talks and fantasizes about Blank dying all the time, but if it came down to it, could he really murder him? I don’t think Skärva’s ever killed a thing bigger than bugs, to be honest. And it raises an interesting dilemma… nothing could defy the gods more than killing their chosen hero, but by such cruelty he would prove himself worthy of their curse, the mark of his family’s transgression. Until then he’ll keep on being evil, but not EVIL evil.

I’m so much better at drawing heartbreaking results of violence now (uh… yay?)… in the first two panels there, minus all the cuts and stuff, Skärva just looks like he’s crawling out of bed with a hangover.
I’m so much better at drawing in general… those were the days when Castle Skärva was this minimalist void… and the thick lineart… bleh!

Lorelei is beating him with all the fury of someone whose loved one is lying in a puddle of his own blood. Right in the kneecap too. She should have just reached a little higher and made sure Blank’s fantasies of havin behbehs with Veronika could NEVER come true.
Well at least skaerva managed to get some hits in. Too bad we didn’t get to watch the fight, but I can assume that Skaerva used magic, and Blank did “the jump”
Yeah, we really didn’t need pages of me drawing Blank springing around. We wanted to cut straight to the point. Maybe some day I’ll get better at drawing fight scenes and then they’ll be worth having.
……uh…um…No words for what I just looked at just none personally I think Lorelei’s face could of been done a tiny (I said tiny) bit better in the panel where she calls Blank stupid. Also if you need more inspiration for sad scenes ask me I can name countless times I’ve typed up or thought of stuff that made myself or others cry.
Hmm, I see nothing wrong with that panel, she looks a little goofy but it’s because her face is contorted by rage and sadness. And I’m always seeing things in my art that I think is awkward but I don’t notice it until it’s too late to fix it or I just don’t know how… but I liked that panel.

no it just comes to me as I write to think about something. Sometimes when I fantasize about something I will somehow make it sadder then all hell and I gotta think of a new idea for it before I make myself cry…its awkward but fun to have.

Oh, okay. I actually thought I was just crazy. I could *swear* that this comic was uploaded on Wednesday, but I looked at the time it was uploaded, (May 17th, 12AM), and the lack of a notification at the top you usually do for late comics, and I questioned my ability to remember when it was uploaded, as well as my ability to remember whether the day changed at midnight or at 1:00AM.

Hey, uh, I don’t want to be mean or anything…but, um, could you cut down on the spam and rude language? The comic, firstly, will be up when it’s up…and secondly, you’re reducing the quality of this comic with your insipid remarks…as well as pushing its age rating up.
As clarification: there’s nothing necessarily wrong with swearing or other “rude” language but…please have it serve a point.
