And do you guys ever go to conventions? You could set up a stand nd things. That would be cool. Im not sure where ComiCon is this year but LTUE is usually in Utah. I think its free.if.yoou go to.school. anywhere at all. Ithink.

Yeah, that would be cool some day. But right now, both of us are too busy with finishing college and trying to get a foothold into gainful employment, and stuff.
Hopefully some day we can go to conventions; if I could meet any of you commenters in real life, it would be mind-blowing and I would give you lots of hugs and draw your favorite character for you! So don’t be shy!

I wouldn’t say The Third died young… but before his time, certainly. Maybe it had to do with all the beatings he so cheerfully bore in the name of being a villain. Maybe it had to do with dark magic, or the curse.

Awesome. You wouldn’t have to go through the trauma of them actually dying! …also, since presumably they’re aware of being a ghost, (ie, their consciousness lives on), you’re always presented with a fact of there being an afterlife! That’d be awesome, if you ask me.
But then you wouldn’t be able to sit on grandpa’s knee and… oh, whatever grandpas do. WHAT DO GRANDPAS DO. (Besides hermit themselves away in a library) Both of mine died when I was a baby.

I was GOING to do a Scooby parody but I thought it was too goofy, so I made a rhyme.

Heheh, poor Lorelei, Derk and Skärva the Second.
I really like those last three panels, by the way: the dim backdrop, the dust, the old-fashioned chair and desk, the Second himself, everyone’s expressions (in that last panel especially), even that dim yellow light. I’m especially fond of the Second’s design: bookish, old-fashioned and slightly ragged, even down to his font; appropriate for a slightly-less-than-stable ghost living in a library.
One critique that I have, if I may, comes from your mention of the lack of highlight on Skärva( the Fourth)’s clasp: I don’t think that I really took the impression of the characters being in low light before you mentioned that. While the backdrop is lovely and dim, the characters are still bright – perhaps it might have helped to dim their colours a little?

Well good, then I can be proud of myself because I adore everything about poor, poor the Second. He’s definitely a pet of mine (and also that sad-backstory character I always wanted!). Victor kept teasing me that we’d go into a 50-comic side arc with the minions before I’d get to draw him.
Fair enough. I should have dimmed them, agreed. I may do so for Friday’s comic and fix the ones before it, if I have time.

Skärva II knows where the Gods of Light dwell, or at least where the Skärva line got cursed or where Blank (and either HIS line or the rest of the Heroes) got Their blessing?
Why do I get the feeling that this will result in a Temple of Light raid where the ‘enemies’ there try to coax Lorelei and Derk from Skärva, or at least Derk having to fight (literally or not) with his own beliefs?
Aaaand now I have the urge to sketch out Light-based enemies.
I’ve been meaning to ask: is Derk blind? I mean, he can clearly see, but his eyes are pure white. It’s probably just a stylistic choice but it’s been bugging me for a while.
He’s no more blind than a Lurkin is. I think they have something of a different vision, they see with their whole eyes rather than having a focus and the rest of it being blurred.
Ah. Would that make their vision more sensitive to light or less?
I don’t really think it makes a difference.
