Now you’re playing with power

Since magic is consciousness in our world, you may have expected to see hypnosis of this kind before (as opposed to simple illusion/deception). In fact, since a soul is the strongest magic there is, to displace and subvert someone else’s will even temporarily takes an immense amount of power. Skärva can’t normally do this type of thing, or he would – at least before Lorelei was around to tell him it was wrong. Even Derk is disturbed.
…Seriously Derk you’re STILL here?!! Don’t you have something better to do??
Here’s some appropriately chilling 5th birthday fan-art from our dear friend Chynna!
Now… what do we think of the new Zelda?
Ps: Happy birthday to devoted reader Lin!
Have you ever considered starting a patrion account for the comic
I’m not opposed to it, but honestly the bit of money we might make isn’t winning me over to having one more thing in my life to worry about and maintain The single-time donation button is always there, and people can get a cameo character if they donate enough (details under “Rewards” at the top).
I’ll keep thinking about it though…
Aaah Skarva finally getting back to being deliciously evil.
Mmmmmmmm~
I would say we can all agree that the new Zelda looks really awesome!
I mean, you WOULD say that But me and Victor certainly agree! We can’t wait to get our hands on it.
Fourth!
Well, this became a little darker. o_o (By which I mean the mind-control, not the killing–the latter doesn’t surprise me.)
It continues to be interesting to see a darker Skärva!
Pfft… yeah. I mean, he did start out this arc by trying to DROWN Blank… the decapitation is a mercy, I think.
I think it’s important to remind people that Skärva can be pretty terrible. We all love him anyway, but he’s a villain.
Fair enough! It can be easy to forget when the character is otherwise interesting and engaging, I do think.
I’d forgotten about the drowning! Even so, I think that I find the mind-control to be still a little more disturbing, personally.
Whoa, tilting on The First there, my shark-faced buddy?
Granted, it’s not a Dominate spell. Looks more like Suggestion, considering he had to appeal to attitudes already present in the smithy’s mind.
Eh, I barred the Enchantment school, so I’m no expert!
You’re not wrong. He has pieces of all the previous three of his name in him, after all.
Hooray, you’re back! With this page, I like to think Skarva is capable of displacing the blacksmith’s will because on some level, Smithy likes the idea.
Yeah, you and WolvenSaint had the same idea. It definitely made things easier…
AHHH! The page I almost missed is the one where you wished me a happy birthday! The irony!!
It’s your birthday page! Your birthday is Sharkbutt hypnotizing someone. Although I don’t know why he’d bother, considering he already has a star hypnotist working for him…
One would wonder why Skarva never used this power on Blank, but another would quickly correct the former by pointing out Blank’s protection by the gods, superior mind strength(?), possession of numerous items, gear and potions, yada yada yada.
…How did it take me until today to figure out that title joke!?
The NES (and later SNES and Game Boy) did have a pretty awesome slogan.
Heeheeehee, Evil Skarva time!
