What do you have to say to THAT, Floyd?!

The end!
Just kidding.
Altermentality:
Ok so this comic would have been up a lot sooner but it took me forever to figure out how I wanted it to look. Eventually settled for the classic ink-on-parchment feel.
PS Ecta is mad in the first panel because Davis has his little demon butt on Skärva’s desk.
ALSO I just want to thank you so much for all the comments recently! We almost got 50 on the last comic. Most of them were people coming back and having conversations, but that’s awesome too. Keep them coming, they make us happy.
That devious Davis! I’ve got to admit, this is an original plan! I’d like to see how this pans out…
But a purple potion…? Wait, Skarva’s not trying to feed Blank one of those accursed poes, is he?! That vile sharkman!
Sitting on desks: the ultimate in deviousness. He’ll be saying “shut up” next.
It’s a POE-tion! Hoho
…But really, I was going to make it red, but the flower is “purple with love’s wound” so it makes more sense this way. Also, the potion is for the princess, so rest assured there are no ghosts in there. Skärva is a noble villain, he won’t let any harm come to the fair lady.
Ah yes, he is *Lord* Skarva, not some lowlife lady-harmer!
3rd panel… adorable
Yeah, I do feel sorry for our Hero, for once…
So, I’ve been wondering this for a while. Is there a reason Veronika is taller than blank? That wouldn’t be some kind of parallel to you two and Victor would it?
you and Victor*
Hehehe. Finally the girl can be taller, eh? Nah, Veronika isn’t exactly the type of person I want to live vicariously through
Blank is on the short side and Veronika is quite tall for a woman. She’s not even too far below Skärva, who towers over most people. Visually, I needed her to be tall because of how lofty and distant she is, how difficult to attain and connect to. Especially for Blank.
Oh, and did y’all change the avatar set recently?
All I’ve to say is….Didn’t See THAT coming…but its not cool to send them to Normal Forest…when theyre a Quirky Miniboss screwup gang when its right next to Haunted Forest we do snow something about Tropes our selves you snow….
Well Skärva doesn’t have time to go picking flowers himself! He has other things to do. Plus, it’ll be a good team bonding experience… right?
wao! i did nawt cee that kumming. skaervuh is brilliant fore that playan of hys.
i awlsoe wundore hao that wyl plae aot
Yew… are getting ridiculous. I will not be able to understand you soon enough. And please never type “kumming” again.
Well you’ll just have to keep reading, huh?
I really like how you drew Veronika’s eyes here. They’re like the epitome of quiet suffering.
Ahaha. Her eyes are pretty much always like that, and you’re on the right track of why. She’s definitely an interesting character to me, quite a contrast from all the others we have. I look forward to introducing her before too long.
Also…it looks like there’s a little bird following her around..! Or is that Blank’s Navi?
Yep! That’s her birdie. More on that later!
Blank doesn’t have anyone to follow him around. So many gamers would think he ought to be very grateful for that, but really… it gets lonely on an adventure. I’d rather deal with an excess of “Hey! Listen!”s than an aching emptiness. Can’t help but pity the spurned hero, even though he beats up my Skärva.
okae. eye will no lawn-gore type fake werds.
xD
lawn-gore? Sounds nasty.
lawn-gore [lawn-gohr]
noun
The terrible fate that befalls trespassers when they don’t get the f*** off my lawn. >:[
That fits so well with the avatar you’re using.
I think poor little Davis is feeling left out… He’s not up there on the banner with the rest of ’em! D:
Awww. He does need to be up there eventually, I just didn’t want to spoil the surprise of him not actually being just a bit character for those who are a little behind. But he’ll definitely find his way up there someday, so Ecta can have someone new to glare at.
Skarva’s plan is actually pretty good! I’m proud of him.
… of course Blank will probably ruin it somehow but still.
A very unique plan! (Though Skärva better be careful; everyone knows love potions rarely prove to be a good idea!) I really like the second to last panel. How could Blank ever trust a face like that? >:)
I… I am both horrified and impressed… XD
A very interesting plan indeed!
(Hmm… That might actually make for an interesting twist in an actual game…)
I really like the ink-on-parchment effect for the plan description, by the way. ^_^
love it =)
Thanks!
OK loving the ink on parchment effect. What did you use in photoshop to get that?
And while all the princess’s expressions make me laugh, panel five had me rolling.
I picked out a couple brushes I liked for the linework – one for the actual drawings and the other for those “burst” type things (I use that one a lot throughout the comic). The one I used for the drawings is more like a real paintbrush than the one I usually use for lineart on the comic, which is Photoshop’s square brush (which, by the way, I find gives a look more closely resembling traditionally inked work than round brushes, which are more “Photoshoppy” and digital-art-looking if you know what I mean). Then I made the background a light tan, and randomly applied a certain brush, with a darker brown, at a low opacity to make it look a bit grainy. I think the brush is supposed to emulate taking a thick paintbrush and touching its very tip to the canvas. I did the same thing with a thicker brush to make a few “smudges.”
I should make a tutorial of the parchment thing sometime since it’s pretty easy if you experiment with brushes. No filters needed!
Any tutorial you would make I would save and practice. Like, immediatly. XD Make some for your cool snow covered pine trees and your grass and your night backgrounds too. This comic has some of the best brushwork I’ve seen.
